Digitaline - www.cadenzarecords.com - Lausanne - Switzerland
These two guys are more than local heroes! Laps (Laurent Bovey)
and Gregorythme (Gregory Poncet) live in Lausanne and work together
since 2001.
They play much more in Zürich than anywhere else. Maybe that?s
just because it is where their own musical taste is born. “Supertoll”
was precisely the name of the party but doesn?t matter where or
when…
Two years of anonymous activity between Lausanne and Zürich
gave them a real experience of liveacting. Step by step, their music
found his own way to make people dance: a groovy and abstract minimal
techno, more narrative than hypnotic, very precisely built in many
dimensions. In Zürich, they joined the happy Dachkantine family
at the beginning of the trip. Their quasi-residency in this club
allowed them to play many times on one of the best sound system
in Switzerland. The Street parade parties 03 & 04, Live 1 &
2 and the Closing Festival are the “high lights” of
so many
other freaky parties.
In Lausanne, things move on another tempo: being a part of the collective
34m2, they organize little events, very appreciated because of their
friendly (but quite radical) atmosphere. The project of a record
label is also growing in their minds and the first musical success
gives them new ideas and opportunities.
The project got international with the collaboration with Luciano
on Cadenza. Digitaline signed Cadenda #7 in November 2005! The very
good sellings of the record (already twice repressed!) and the great
echoes of press, dj?s and producers are the first step of a long
and great work on Luciano & Serafin?s label : a new release
and other projects on the label will come next year.
Digitaline is also a regular liveacting part of the label parties
in some famous venues in Europe (Panormabar, Montreux jazz festival,
StreetParade, Robert johnson…)
On his own way, after Bruchstuecke #18 “Butterfly EP”
in 2005, Gregorythme just released in april 2006 the “Cannibale
EP” on Cabanne?s brand new Paris based label. His second solo
record stands somewhere else in the minimal spectrum, at a certain
distance from the dance floor.
